So remember that game I made about a year ago for Whirled? A couple people at the office refactored the code and worked a few kinks out of it for me. Now it's up been pushed out to the wilds of Newgrounds and Kongregate.
This makes me a bit nervous, so be kind. Give the links a click, and if you like it, give it a ranking. Perhaps if it's enjoyed enough, I'll be able to convince the folks here to let me make a more polished version for Whirled. One that even has a story! Gasp! ...Maybe I should get Matt to write that instead...

-Fourth, I love the art of Niklas Jansson. His sense of volume, color and mechanics is staggering and I study anything he posts hoping to absorb the awesome. I've also really enjoyed the art and design of Megaman Legends. The robots are wonderfully iconic. Plus I have a soft spot for low resource games, which is sated by it's PS1 era graphics.
So when he posted up his latest mind scribblings, I was quite thrilled. Damn, that's awesome. I love how he expands apon the style of the game to overlap some of the original megaman's robot designs. Seriously, I receive nourishment from staring at these designs.
It's funny though, he loves him his low ride panties. (Which I won't fault him for as he draws them quite cute.) I like to play a game of "time till pantie" with his design docs. Same rules as "time till crate".
Heart just isn't in it this week.

Sorry about that. But I promised myself with 3PS not to force a comic. (I also promised to stop apologizing on the site, but that's harder to keep.) Got some scripts from Matt that I'll turn into comics next week.
For now though, the above is a doodle I did while I was sitting at the booth at our last convention. Her name is Lisseromen. Perhaps one day she'll be in a comic.
Also just wanted to say that we'll be attending Connecticon this year as guests. It tends to be a hoot and it'll be nice to see George again. Even if he makes me draw terrible things.

I forgot to link this last week.

I asked Gene Yang if he would do an interview, and he said ok. So, we did it up as a podcast.
I really, really hate the sound of my own voice.

Hey, you should go to this thing.

Not only are there going to be a bunch of cool cats there, it's held in a former factory where a bunch of them work, including Jeff Rowland, who has been known to hurl his own body in the path of ulcers intended for us.

Alright, time to unload some linkage:
S-Words! - My house-mate, Dom, has been doing a weekly, pop-culture podcast with some friends of late. Wednesday, I believe, I'll be helping out, so you'll get to hear my dorky and awkward voice trying to keep up with these masters of the jaw.
Nine Shot Sonata - Xero started a new comic to work his magic with. I recommend you investigate.
A wild Rant approaches...

Well, that's it for the Angels segment. That was a really fun set to draw. Also allowed me to pull some stuff from my ten year old works. You people seem to have rather enjoyed it too given the enormous amount of positive feedback about it. Especially the angel.
For the people questioning where the inspiration came from on it, no it was not IG-88, Helper, Scud, or Hob. The inspiration comes from a character type I was drawing back in high school. Those of you who have played my old game RED should be able to recognize the style. (Ah RED, one part pride, one part pure embarrassment) I just wish I still had the original 3D models of the guy from the Meta project... But anyway, thank you for the kind words. My apologies to those I didn't get responses to.
Also, thank you for the kind words about the book. I've very happy to hear that people are really enjoying it.

An unusually smooth convention.

We did a few panels and signed some autographs. (Well, we mostly watched while Johnny Yong Bosch signed autographs while we talked to Ken Pontac off to the side about how MadWorld is looking.)
People liked the art books. This was actually the first time we'd seen them, since we shipped them directly to Jeff at Topatoco.
(It was also the first time I saw the shot glasses. I knew the 2 oz. size was bigger, but I didn't know how big. They're dense glass slugs. You could kill someone with these things.)
While I was there, I bought a copy of American Born Chinese, and I highly recommend you do the same.

Back from the AoD. Not that we went anywhere, but still, cons are taxing on the facilities. Had fun and talked to a lot of nice people.
I'd like to talk a bit more, though I'm not sure when I'll have time today. Busy day back at the office.
Put together a quick wallpaper of the art book cover. Drew this image at Genericon last year. Decided to paint it up for the book cover last August. Pretty happy with the saturation of cute it obtained.
Making next week's comic just a recipe would have been kind of a gyp, so:
Soak the corn, husks still on, in a pot of water. If you can't submerge them completely, make sure the tassle side is down. Let them soak for 15 to 20 minutes.
While you're waiting, get the grill hot. You'll have to start sooner than this if you're using a charcoal grill, but if you're using a gas grill, just crank it to medium-high.
Once the corn is soaked, throw it on the grill, turning occasionally.
Keep them on, turning occasionally, for about half an hour. The husks will burn, but don't worry. The water will steam the corn inside the husk perfectly.
For best results, buy your corn from a man selling it along the side of the road from back of a pickup truck.

I'm already getting feedback from people. I'm quite happy that the books are getting out so fast and that their owners are quite happy with them. Makes the work put into the buggers worth it. Thank you.
ALSO! We'll be hanging out in SF this weekend for a convention called AoD. We'll be loafing about chatting and such. But as a note, if you can't get my gaze to break from my psp, it's not because I loath humanity and resent you for approaching me. It's just that I'm really enjoying this Phantasy Star demo.
