What is it about 'To be Continued' that makes things seem epic? All I wanted to do was make sure people understood this last two was a pair, but I think I made things worse.
So Animation on Display was this last weekend. I think Matt and I gave our absolute worst 'Mac Hall' panel to date. Guh, so out of practice with these cons. If you were there, I apologize completely. However, thanks be to Dom and Jes
for adding director's commentary to our bombing panel.
GDC has moved into the convention hall across the street from my office
. Which would explain why there's been random parades of students coming through here this week. Nice folk.
Man, while adorable, this ninja's
outfit must be drafty.

Back from the AoD. Not that we went anywhere, but still, cons are taxing on the facilities. Had fun and talked to a lot of nice people.
I'd like to talk a bit more, though I'm not sure when I'll have time today. Busy day back at the office.

We've put up a temporary store for the prints.
The new and improved Topatoco store is actually going to be coming up over the weekend after they do some security testing, so we're just using this in the meantime.
Once the new store is up, you'll be able to bundle a whole bunch of stuff from a whole bunch of other comics and save on shipping.
There's also new inventory tracking and whatever, but you don't care about that.

Hey look at that, another comic spawned. Must have had a server restart.
A while ago, I asked for input on Tablet PCs. I promised to report back when I made my final decision. Just wanted to give a heads up that my plans for such a purchase is on hold for now but the info you have fired my way has been archived and is very much appreciated. Until I am able to settle on a choice, I just thought I would mention the overwhelming recommendation of the Toshiba models or a Cintiq. While the Cintiq looks to have great sensitivity, I still would like a mobile solution.
Anyway, that will be something to mull over down the road.
Also, Wakfu Series
. The last two artists I've talked about actually work for that game company, in case the art style wasn't obvious. Two things about this though... This guy
is a living portal gun
? And, this girl

Another cat based comic slips in. Of course any comic at this point is good right? The wall comics are from an old school project where people would write in the balloons. We hang it up now for +5 style points.
So, I've been feeling that my tablet is holding me back. Like I've hit its limit of use and in order to progress I need a more precise tool. I would like the accuracy of pencil and paper, with the dynamic flexibility of digital. This is leading me to tablet PCs.
I have no interest in those gigantic monitors that are also tablets. I want something light and portable that can also accompany me on trips or maybe just to the couch... I like the couch.
The problem I'm finding is that all the crits of such hardware is based on their ability to 'increase your office productivity.' I want to find how well a model would work with art and the tools I use for said art. I'd love to hear any experience or suggestions those of you have with such hardware. I can be reached on Gmail as Malakym. (such as listed on the contact page.... maybe I should make a contact page....)

How can so much mucus come out of my head and my skull not collapse? This is getting ridiculous.
So I have another random French digital artist that I'm incredibly jealous of. This one draws my current favorite webcomic on the net. Honestly, it says a lot about my criteria for such things since I can't read the comic.
It's called Maliki
. Seems to be a 'day in the life' comic about a neon-pink haired elf(?) girl. Each strip is beautifully rendered and expressive. So much so, that even with out being able to understand the dialog, the humor can be translated just based on the art. However, I have no idea what the flying-cyborg-pink-cheetah-girl is supposed to be...
Like I said, incredibly jealous of this one. Amazing art and still updates every week with epic length comics. I must consume this artist's powers as my own.

There's going to be a few new prints up in the store soon. Topatoco is going to revamp their system this week, so we're waiting until then.
We picked out some comics we liked (19, 38 and 51) the art on and printed them up sans word balloons. We'll be carrying these to Genericon this month as well.
